APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION AS A VETERINARY SPECIALIST WITH THE SOUTH AFRICAN VETERINARY COUNCIL

Note: All applications are subject to approval and no qualification other than those prescribed in the current regulations entitles the applicant to automatic registration as a specialist. Failure to supply all the details requested in this form and failure to supply documentation and references may delay the processing of this application.

Letters of reference from at least two veterinarians who are either registered as specialists or who have equivalent qualifications in the area of your chosen specialty, who can attest to your skills and expertise in this area, and who can confirm that the statements you have made in this declaration are correct. (The referees should not be associated with the organisation/university employing the applicant.)

Letters of reference from at least two veterinarians who are not recognised specialists, who acknowledge your skills and knowledge in the area of the proposed specialty by either regularly seeking your advice or referring case work.

Please supply evidence of your continued participation in the proposed area of specialisation subsequent to your obtaining the qualifications by which you are seeking registration, namely:

Continuing education courses either attended or given.

 

Professional contacts with other specialists or experts in the field.

 

Formal instruction or supervised programs of instruction either attended or given.

 

Publications, addresses to learned associations and other evidence of advancing the specialty.
